Solène is a mixed-media artist and painter, specialising in exploring the fusion of contemporary oriental aesthetics and modern spatial design. Her work encompasses painting, installation and digital interaction, using multi-dimensional media to construct visual experiences with cultural depth.
Born in 1999 in a region of China known for the intersection of Han, Tibetan and Muslim cultures, her art is deeply rooted in this vibrant and diverse heritage. From an early age, she was nurtured by her family's furniture decorating business, developing a sensitivity to materials, colours and space. She has studied painting since the age of five and graduated from the Royal College of Art with a Master in Textiles, specialising in the application of painting, physical materials and digital technology in spatial installations, expanding the boundaries of mixed media and cultural narratives.
Her work involves the study of natural elements, oriental mythology and Buddhist philosophy, combining painting, materials and digital technology, fusing Western and Chinese aesthetics, exploring the dynamic tension between fantasy and order, softness and magnificence, and conveying the spirituality of oriental philosophy through abstract symbols and natural imagery, so that the work resonates deeply on both a visual and cultural level.
Solène‘s future work aims to explore the interplay of colour, materials, painting and installation within space. Multi-dimensional works are created through multi-disciplinary practices that reshape the expression of cultural heritage, integrating to foster a deeper connection between the viewer and the work.
