I come from Qinghai, China, which is one of the centres of Tibetan culture. I draw inspiration from my background and the core idea of Tibetan Buddhism, ‘Emptiness’ - everything in this world comes and goes. Only human nature is eternal. This process of deriving art from thought also inspires me. I record the ‘process of moving thoughts’.

I mimic the morphological distortion of the flow of thought by blurring the traditional elements in the thangka and blending them into images by overlapping them. I break the God-centred layout and create new imagery that combines modern and classical.

I change the traditional appearance of the thangka, but retain its charm - helping people to listen again to their inner strength. I try to guide the viewer into the ‘empty’ space, thus returning to the inner world of the true self.
